The city of Marysville will celebrate Merrysville for the Holidays on December 5 this year, with holiday activities centered around Comeford Park, but the Electric Lights Parade will not be part of the festivities.
The twilight parade, which has historically traveled down State Avenue, did not have a sponsor this year and the employee overtime costs to the city were just too much to justify, according to Marysville Parks and Recreation coordinator Andrea Kingsford.
Other festival activities, including live music in the park, arts and crafts vendors, a holiday bonfire and official lighting of the water tower are still planned.
