Several key Marysville intersections are on the city's list of planned improvements over the next six years.

On July 27 planners in the Marysville Public Works department presented the city's six-year transportation development projects. From 2010-2015, the city aims to complete thirty projects totaling $310 million, with $46 million of the total to be spent in 2010 alone.

The city currently has four sources of funding that budget; $1.6 million will come from grants, $25 million from WSDOT, $100,000 from Snohomish County for joint county/city work, and $700,000 from the Tulalip Tribes. Other funding that has not been allocated yet will come from city funds, loans and other grant money.

The list of thirty projects includes notable areas that a lot of Marysville residents have been anticipating for a long time. Number eight on the list is the 88th Street and State Ave. junction, where the city plans to add turn lanes and extra westbound lanes. Number twelve proposes a widening of State Ave. and 116th Street from two lanes to five lanes. The two lanes on 4th Street under the I-5 bridge will be widened to five lanes in project 19.
