Managers of Quil Ceda Village, the only federally-recognized Indian-owned city in the United States, have recently announced the planned construction of a gas station plaza at the 116th Street exit, next to the Washington State Patrol headquarters.

Initial construction for the three-phase project will include eight stations with 16 dispensing units and a payment kiosk. The gas station is planned to be open in late September or early October 2009.

The proposed second phase, expected to be complete in early 2010, will add a full service 10,000-sq.-ft. retail convenience store and additional pumps. The final phase of planned construction will include a car wash and other amenities.

Fuel prices at the new gas station are expected to be competitive with member-only gas stations. Tulalip Resort Casino and Quil Ceda Creek Casino Rewards Club members will enjoy a discounted rate, as will Tulalip tribal members.
