Starting in mid-July, the City of Marysville is offering free quality fill dirt for residents' own uses around the yard.
The city stockpiles the native soil collected and used for in-house construction projects around Marysville, but lately the pile has outgrown the city's needs. The Public Works Department has decided to share the extra with the public, explained Paul Kinney, Lead Worker II in the Stormwater and Sewer Maintenance Division.
To pick up your own fill dirt, visit the Kellogg Marsh Reservoir site at 100th Street NE and 67th Avenue. Gates are open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors must complete and sign a Hold Harmless Agreement, and the fill dirt is offered on a first come, first served basis.
For more information, contact Marysville Public Works at (360) 363-8100.
