A trip to the San Juan Islands is closer than you think, thanks to a new service offered by Arlington's Out of the Blue Aviation.

For only $230 round-trip, three people can fly from Arlington to Friday Harbor in about 30 minutes in the company's brand new Cessna 182 single-engine plane, thanks to passenger service certification by the FAA.

"With road traffic delays, ferry lines and long waits at SeaTac, we think local people will be thrilled to know they have another option to get to their favorite destinations," said Cathy Mighell, president of Out of the Blue. "Places like the San Juan Islands, Canada and Eastern Washington are time consuming to get to by car, but fast and easy by airplane."

Out of the Blue Aviation's state-of-the-art aircraft, complete with glass panel displays and computerized functionality, provides passengers with comfort and convenience in their travels. The small aircraft can land at any FAA-approved airport.

With direct flights, passengers can be at their favorite northwest destinations in a fraction of the time it takes to drive. Lake Chelan is only an hour away by plane, and beachcombers can avoid the 6-hour drive to Seaside, Oregon, by flying there in only an hour and a half.

"With today's busy schedules, flying out of your local airport directly to your destination is the way to go," said Mighell.
