Arlington officials announced Tuesday that 188th Street NE will be closed to all through traffic from 67th Avenue NE to 59th Drive NE beginning 6 a.m. Monday, May 11, through 5 p.m. Friday, May 15,  to allow for the reconstruction of the street. 

As part of the annual Transportation Improvement Program, the City of Arlington is repaving 188th Street. This project entails pulverizing the existing asphalt road for re-use as a crushed asphalt base, widening the road to have two 12-foot travel lanes, and paving with 4 inches of asphalt. 

The road is a vital link connecting two industrial corridors as well as providing primary access to two of the city's parks, Evens Field and Quake Park.
