North County Outlook is on the move.

On March 11, the community newspaper staff began the process of relocating to a spacious office at 1331 State Avenue, Suite B, next door to the Girl Scouts headquarters.

NCO officeWhile we have appreciated the hospitality of Marysville Travel, with whom we’ve shared office space since our inception, it had become clear that we needed more space. As the paper's staff has grown and our activity has increased, it had become clear that we needed more space. The 1,200-square-foot property is perfect for our current needs while allowing room for expansion in the years to come.

And speaking of expanding, we’re very proud to announce that Beth Opel is now working with our sales staff as a part-time independent contractor. After 15 years in advertising sales at the Marysville Globe, Beth was ready for a change of direction and we were excited at the opportunity to add her talents to our strong sales team. Under the leadership of advertising manager Sue Stevenson, Beth and Julie Brandt are assisted by our “gal Friday,” Debbie Glidden.

We're also pleased to inform readers that the folksy wisdom of Steve Smith, the Whistling Gardener, will once again appear in our paper beginning this issue. And we've added a new pet-focused column, Animal House-Mates, written by Kimberly Loomis. A new parenting column by Marysville resident Kirk Kraft is also in the works.

While we'll still be settling in over the next few weeks, readers are invited to stop by our new digs to say "hi" and enter a drawing for two Regal movie tickets. Parking is available next to the alley at the back of the building, and the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
