A Marysville man who relied on a wheelchair for mobility died in a Saturday afternoon fire at the Twin Cedars Mobile Home Park at 8515 State Avenue.

William John Hoyt, 52, died from asphyxiation, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

Marysville Fire District personnel were dispatched to a residential fire at the Twin Cedars Mobile Home Park at approximately 3 p.m. on February 7. The caller who reported the fire thought the home might be occupied. A smoke column could be seen from blocks away.

The first crews on the scene found the single-wide mobile home engulfed in flames and power lines down across the residence and roadway. As fire personnel searched the home, the man was found and removed, but he did not survive. The mobile home was a total loss, estimated at $23,000.

Fire District spokesperson Kristen Thorstensen said the fire did not appear to be intentional.

Investigators from the Snohomish County Fire Marshal's office, Marysville Fire District, Marysville Police Department and Snohomish County Fire District 1 are conducting the investigation.

Crews from Marysville Fire District, Everett Fire, Lake Stevens Fire, Getchell and Tulalip Bay all responded, for a total of 29 emergency personnel on-site.
