Many consumers are now focused on finding ways to save money, including cutting the cost of their energy bills. Snohomish County PUD has enhanced several of its conservation programs and launched new efforts to assist customers with energy-efficiency measures in their homes.

Low-Interest Loans

Customers can get a 2.9 percent loan to help pay for energy-efficiency improvements such as floor, wall or ceiling insulation, insulated windows and/or heat pump installation. No administrative fee is charged and no appraisal is required. The loan is secured and has a term of up to 10 years with no pre-payment penalty. The program is available to customers with electrically-heated homes.

Weatherization Rebates

The PUD offers rebates for energy-saving measures including ceiling, floor, wall and duct insulation, windows, electronic programmable thermostats and heat pumps. Rebates cover 50 percent or more of project costs. The program is available to customers with electrically-heated homes.

Rebates for Efficient Appliances

PUD customers can get rebates for various efficient appliances. The PUD offers a $35 rebate for the purchase of a qualifying resource-efficient dishwasher, which saves both energy and water. The utility offers a $50 rebate for qualifying energy-efficient refrigerators. Rebate applications must be received within 90 days of purchase. The program is available to all PUD customers.

In addition, customers can receive rebates, ranging from $50 to $100, for qualifying resource-efficient clothes washers. For information about clothes washer rebates, see www.washwiserebate.com or call 1-866-632-4636.
