The City of Marysville has added prosecutors Al Treacy and Jennifer Millett to its legal team. Both attorneys previously served as deputy prosecutors for the Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office in Everett.
Millett worked in the county prosecutor's office from December 2003-2008, and prior to that served for three years as a law clerk in the Snohomish County and Spokane County superior courts. In 2000, Millett earned her law degree from Gonzaga University, where she also earned her bachelor's degree in history. She and her family reside in Everett.
Treacy served in the Snohomish County Prosecutor's Office from January 2006-December 2008. Previously, he worked in the City of Bothell Prosecutor's Office. Treacy earned his law degree from the Seattle University School of Law in May 2005, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Alaska in Juneau. Prior to his legal career, Treacy served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter crew chief and assistant platoon sergeant, receiving an honorable discharge in August 1990. He and his family live in Snohomish.
The new prosecutors, working under the supervision of City Attorney Grant Weed, are responsible for prosecuting criminal misdemeanor cases, traffic infractions, criminal violations of city ordinances, and other actions brought before the municipal court.
The prosecutors will be supported by Josie Prendergast of Everett, who was hired in December to serve as Legal Confidential Administrative Assistant. Prendergast has more than seven years' experience as legal secretary for the city's previous prosecutor.
