The City of Arlington unveiled the revised version of its community video at the City Council meeting Monday, December 1. The professionally-produced video is aimed at attracting new Arlington citizens by highlighting the attributes of the city. This virtual tour gives potential residents a chance to look at every aspect of the town including the quality of life, real estate, educational opportunities, recreational activities and the economy.
The quality of life aspect focused on the location of Arlington, having a "unique natural landscape in the picturesque Stillaguamish Valley" next to the Cascade Mountains. These qualities also enhance outdoor recreational activities that include biking on the Centennial Trail, hiking in the foothills, and kayaking on the Stilly for tourists and native residents.
The revamping of downtown's main street allows Arlington to have a new "economic development plan that is posed for growth in the future." City officials anticipate the population to double by 2025 and they are making changes now for that increase. In the meantime, they hope to keep the "vibrant local economy" going strong during these tough times and attract new community members.
The video's Web page includes links to Arlington resources such as Cascade Valley Hospital, along with local business sponsors. To view the new video, visit the official Arlington Web site at www.ci.arlington.wa.us and click on Community Video.
