Ease winter energy budget with equal payment plan

For PUD customers who are concerned about high winter heating bills, the local utility offers the Equalized Payment Plan to make budgeting easier.

Customers with a zero balance can sign up for the program at any time of the year to take advantage of equal payments each month and no cold-weather surprises.

The PUD recommends that customers have at least one year of service at their current address before starting the plan in order to establish an accurate payment amount. At the end of the billing year, the account is evaluated and a new monthly payment is calculated based on the previous year's usage and account balance. Monthly payment amounts may vary from year to year, based on changes in the weather and energy usage.

Customers can apply for the payment plan by phone or in person at any PUD office. For information, call (425) 783-1000.
