An information and referral service, North Sound 2-1-1 can help with rent assistance, job training, food, shelter, support group referrals and much more.
The one-stop Washington Information Network (WIN 211) is a collaborative effort by more than 30 organizations that include comprehensive and specialized information and referral services, United Way locations throughout Washington, key state agencies, local community action programs, and committed private individuals. WIN 211 was created in 2001, and the referral database contains more than 8,200 health and human service providers.
In addition to helping those in need of basic services, WIN 211 also gives local agencies a comprehensive tracking tool to monitor community needs, enabling providers and lawmakers to make more informed decisions about program funding.
Staff members at the 2-1-1 call center are also trained to accept and process donations, allowing participating agencies to focus on relief efforts in critical times.
Referrals and information from the WIN 211 network are also accessible online at www.win211.org.
