Albertson's plans major remodel
Workers and materials are on hand to start a major remodeling project at the Marysville Albertson’s store on the corner of State Avenue and 4th Street.
Containers of materials and supplies are lined up in the north end of the parking lot and work crews were planning to get started Monday night, Oct. 20
.
Assistant store director Shawn Goguen explained that the neighborhood grocery store will be transformed into a “premium fresh” store with the remodel, which is expected to be completed in February 2009.
“It will be a clean, open, friendly environment, featuring the freshest products and more organic choices,” said Goguen.
New floors and lighting will complement the improved flow of the store, with the perimeter featuring a new line of baked goods, more ready-to-go food choices including a soup bar, and a bigger pharmacy.
Goguen is prepared for the remodel. He worked at the Mountlake Terrace store during a similar project and understands how to manage the work with minimal disruption for customers.
“We’ll still be open 24 hours a day,” he assured.
Most of the construction work will take place overnight. Grocery aisles will not be disturbed until after Christmas.
