Pink tresses promote breast cancer awareness

AHS studentsStudents at Arlington High School gathered on Monday, October 6, to put a little color in their hair. The color pink, to be exact.

Studio5 salon owner Chris Elliott is a motivated participant in the Pink Hair for Hope campaign sponsored by the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Her goal is to do the most pink hair extensions in Snohomish County for the effort.

The AHS Associated Student Body Community Committee jumped on the bandwagon, gathering over 100 students and staff members to donate and receive the pink hair extensions on Oct. 6.
AHS junior Danny Huleatt planned to participate. “I hope other guys will do it,” he said. “It’s important. Breast cancer affects guys too, our moms and sisters.”

AHS students promoting the pink hair campaign are (L-R) Melanie Baublitz, Danika Drake, Emery Zednick, Chelsea Lubong and Alina Radion.
