Reservation lines open at Tulalip resort

The official opening of the Tulalip Resort Hotel and Spa is slated for August of this year, and many dates are already booked to capacity. The hotel began taking public reservations April 15.

Troy Longwith, sales director for the resort hotel, said the facility plans a “soft opening” in late June. At least half the hotel rooms will be ready for occupancy by that time, although a few public amenities may still be getting finishing touches.

“We have annual conferences for several state associations booked from September through fall of 2009, and several fundraisers and large-scale social events have been contracted in 2008,” said Longwith.

The luxury hotel was chosen to host the Skate America competition teams in October, with more than 250 hotel rooms booked for the Olympic-sanctioned event. Sixty elite skaters from around the world will participate in the 3-day contest, billed as the premier international figure skating competition in the United States, at Everett’s Comcast Arena October 23-26.

When completed, the Tulalip Resort Hotel and Spa will feature 370 luxurious guest rooms, a world-class day spa, five signature restaurants and 30,000 square feet of meeting and reception space. Accommodations at the 4-star hotel are expected to be priced from $100 per night up to $3,000 for luxury suites.
