3 on 3 basketball at the airport

On August 11 and 12, the A-Town Hoops will hold its annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament "X-travaganza" at the Arlington Municipal Airport.
A-Town Hoops is a select boys' basketball league for fourth through eighth graders. Participation requires a substantial financial commitment for the players and their families. The tournament raises funds for the organization to help purchase uniforms and keep the cost of participation low.
The tournament will feature over 200 teams in multiple age and ability divisions, including boys and girls in grades 4 through high school, collegiate men and women, and senior groups. If previous tournaments are any indication, the number of fans and supporters will reach close to 1,500 at this event. Players and fans will camp overnight, and vendors and concessions will be available through the tournament.
Last year, A-Town hoops raised over $8,000, which was used to purchase new jerseys for many of the teams. With a majority of the uniforms paid for, much of the money this year can go directly to lowering the participation fees.
The goal of the tournament is not only to raise money, but to bring together businesses and community members for a great time.
