The first annual Kids' Day at Gleneagle Golf Course is planned for Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to dusk. Kids' Day is scheduled to coincide with the Gleneagle Country Club garage sale which runs from Friday, May 18, through Sunday, May 20.
On Saturday, kids of Gleneagle will be selling gently used toys, books, games, clothing, furniture, sports equipment, and more outside the Gleneagle Golf Course Clubhouse.
Kids can also opt to bring items to exchange for Gleneagle Bucks. This is a one-for-one swap--each item offered for exchange, regardless of size or value, will be traded for one Gleneagle Buck. Items can be dropped off for exchange between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., then kids and their families can return at or after 1:30 p.m. to shop with their Gleneagle Bucks.
If you've thought about adding a family pet to the mix, stop by to see Perrfect Pals, along with a few of their furry friends, for an on-site cat adoption event.
Representatives from the Arlington fire and police departments will be on hand during the day on Saturday, offering close-up looks at a fire truck and ambulance and a chance to meet an Arlington K9 unit.
Youngsters can also visit with members of the Arlington High School Eagles football team and enter a contest to win a football autographed by Seattle Seahawk Lawyer Milloy.
Saturday will also see the introduction of The First Tee program at Gleneagle. In 1997, the World Golf Foundation created The First Tee as a way to bring golf to young people who otherwise would not be exposed to the game and its positive values. The First Tee will be on-site selling gently used kids' golf equipment and will be available to share information about their program.
