Arlington celebrated its 10th year as a Tree City USA Saturday, April 14, during an Arbor Day Celebration, which included the planting of a rain garden at the site of the new Arlington Depot in Legion Park with assistance from the Snohomish Conservation District and the Arlington Garden Club. Rain gardens, that keep water in the ground and out of the drainage system, are the latest thing in landscaping.
The official opening of the Arlington Depot restroom and visitor center is planned for Saturday, April 28, with a ribbon-cutting at noon. Opening activities include a bike ride along the Centennial Trail beginning at 10:30 a.m. and music by the Brass Menagerie Band at 11:30 a.m. The Depot was completed with grant funding.
