Marysville Police, in partnership with the Marysville Parks and Recreation Department and the Marysville Community Coalition (MCC), will host the latest in a series of free community forums that will help families better prepare for a disaster or emergency, and provide helpful driving safety advice.
The upcoming forums are set for Tuesdays, Feb. 7 and March 6, at Marysville-Pilchuck High School Auditorium, 5611-108th St. NE. Both events begin at 7 p.m.
On Feb. 7 police and emergency management officials will explore the most likely types of disaster to befall Marysville, emergency response realities, and how to best prepare your family to survive through a disaster. The presentation is called “Expecting the Worst: Emergency Preparedness in Marysville.”
The March 6 forum, “Getting There Safely: What Every Driver Should Know,” will look at the risks to drivers both young and old on our roads, defensive driving tips, traffic enforcement and collision investigation.
Forums are free, and designed to provide current information as well as access to resources offered by MCC. The Coalition is a community partnership of organizations and individuals working together to promote safety, diversity and awareness, and responding to the needs of the community.
No pre-registration is required. For more information, contact Andrea Kingsford, Recreation Coordinator and Coalition chairperson, at (360) 363-8401 or email akingsford@marysvillewa.gov.
