The digital age is here to stay, but many people may be confused or intimidated by some of the terms used frequently to identify computer-based resources. Sno-Isle Libraries hopes to put library customers at ease by offering a series of short videos to introduce electronic resources-commonly called eResources-to new users.
The nine short videos focus on education, employment and business data. The local library system provides more than 60 eResources, including databases and online information from trusted sources that isn't always found using popular search engines. Sno-Isle subscribes to these information services so library users can enjoy free access at the library or from home with an active Sno-Isle library card.
Each of the "Online Tools for Success" videos features a different eResource with a testimonial from a real Sno-Isle customer and an easy-to-understand tutorial on how to get started, led by a librarian. The four-minute videos, featured on the library system's website, offer insight into resources for tutoring, historical research, jobs and careers, business plans, reference materials and much more.
