Eighteen individuals were honored at an August 18 ceremony celebrating their years of service to the Marysville Fire District. Altogether, the group represented 303 years of dedication to the local community.
Members who had completed 5, 10, 20 and 25 years of service were honored by the Fire District's board of directors, in addition to four individuals who retired this year.
"We need to celebrate this group for their years of service. It is a great commitment they have made to the community and fire district," said Fire Chief Greg Corn.
Members recognized for five years of service were firefighters Chad Bonner, Tristan Brenner, Steve Neyens, Josh Olsen and Shane Thomas.
Celebrating 10 years with the district were Firefighter Basil Bailey, Captain Chad Hale, Firefighter Sonia Kragseth and Firefighter Paramedic Mark Sawdon.
Battalion Chief Scott Goodale and Captain Roger "Chip" Kruse were recognized for their 20 years of service to the district.
25-year veterans honored were Captain Larry Nelson, Firefighter Kelly Smith and Captain Eric Swobody.
The board also congratulated recent retirees Bob Haverty (31 years), Mike Lambert (37 years), Scott Kreiman (29 years) and Bob Spencer (26 years).
Marysville Fire District provides fire and emergency medical services to approximately 72,000 residents of Marysville, Seven Lakes, and Quil Ceda Village, as well as surrounding parts of unincorporated Snohomish County.
