Snohomish County Dairy Women will host the association's 55th Dairy Princess/Ambassador Banquet on Saturday, April 17, at the Viking Hall in Silvana. The reception begins at 6 p.m. with dinner following.

This year, six young women are vying for the honor of representing the organization. Corina Ross-Cantu, Marissa Levi, Emily Neff, Leah Peek, Sharron Rodeffer and Emily Zylstra are all high school students who are involved in the dairy industry.

Emily Neff, who grew up on the family's dairy farm, graduated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School where she belonged to a 4-H Club for four years. Leah is a junior at Arlington High School, and has been a member of the Arlington FFA for three years. She received Novice Grand Champion awards at both Silvana and Evergreen fairs last year.

Corina, Sharron and Emily Zylstra are all juniors at Snohomish High School. Corina is an FFA member whose cow took top honors at the Evergreen State Fair. Sharron, who lived on a dairy farm until she was seven, has garnered blue ribbons and special honors for several projects over the years. Emily has her own 8-cow herd, and has won top awards in fitting and showing.

Marissa, a junior at Stanwood High School, has been a 4-H member for seven years and has earned many awards for her dairy projects at local fairs.
