Growing older can mean irritating and painful stiffness in joints caused by arthritis. In fact, there are more than 100 types of arthritis and treatments may vary depending on the nature of the disease.

Snohomish County's Long Term Care and Aging Division will host a free seminar focusing on the effects of arthritis on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 10:30 to noon at Compass Health's Administrative Office, 4526 Federal Avenue in Everett. Orthopedic surgeon Michael Codsi of the Everett Clinic will discuss easy ways to prevent pain and/or to treat pain that already exists.
