If you have a few hours a week to give, the American Cancer Society will put your skills to good use at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership, located across the street from the medical center at 1717-13th Street in north Everett.

The Cancer Resource Center at the facility welcomes volunteers of all ages and skill levels. Many current volunteers are cancer survivors, but many others simply enjoy helping others.

The CRC is in immediate need of on-call drivers to transport patients to treatment appointments and back home again. Jeri Wood, the ACS Quality of Life Manager, can provide requirements and more details at (425) 322-1114.

An equally urgent need is for volunteers who can volunteer at least four hours a week, Monday through Friday, at the Cancer Resource Center. CRC volunteers help patients and their families locate resources, build support systems, and navigate through the maze of cancer treatments and options.

An orientation class is required for potential volunteers.

Stop by the CRC anytime from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for a tour and additional information. The resource center is located on the first floor of the medical center, in the Patient Navigator Room. Contact CRC chairperson volunteer Les Hoge at leshoge@msn.com or (360) 659-4159.
