Gordy and Carol Bjorg

Gordy Bjorg, president of Roy Robinson Chevrolet, Subaru & RV of Marysville, and his wife Carol served as co-chairs for the 2009 Festival of Trees, a fundraiser benefiting the Providence Children's Center.

The December event raised more than $560,000 from auctions, sponsorships and outright donations.

"The Children's Center offers services to children born with developmental disabilities, or those facing challenges that stem from illness or injury," noted Bjorg. "The Center provides these children with the opportunity to overcome and cope with the challenges they face, regardless of their families' ability to pay for treatment."

The Providence Foundation's Festival of Trees is in its 28th year. With a 2009 theme of "Gifts of the Season," the various events, which included opening night with music and a silent auction, a community day, a black-tie gala and Teddy Bear breakfast, attracted nearly 4,500 visitors over several days at the Everett Events Center.
