Fans of western clothing and gear can lasso bargains at the Western Days sale at Marysville Goodwill, 9315 State Ave., on Friday and Saturday, August 14 and 15. Doors open one hour early on both days, at 8 a.m., to accommodate the eager shoppers.
Friday from 12 to 2 p.m., shoppers can stop by the KMPS radio station table outside of the store to enter a free drawing to win tickets to see the September 1 performance by country music star Blake Shelton at the Evergreen State Fair. From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Bellingham-based Hoss, a country band, will entertain shoppers.
"The sale is so popular because Goodwill is one of the few places where you can get great-quality western gear at great prices. And people know their purchases are supporting a worthy cause in the community," said store manager Duane Bredin.
Throughout the year, Goodwill collects many western-themed items that are generously donated by people in the community. A huge selection of cowboy hats and boots, belts and buckles, western-themed clothing, jewelry and furniture, and many other items will be for sale at Goodwill's low prices. Several beautiful horse saddles will also be available. The proceeds from the Western Days sale supports Goodwill's free job training and education programs that help low-income and underserved people in the community find work and support their families.
