Members of the Marysville Church of Christ celebrated the third phase of a multi-decade growth plan with a groundbreaking ceremony on August 2, 2009. The event marked the beginning of construction on a new 300-seat auditorium.

Dennis Niva, the minister for the 92nd Street Church of Christ, said, "This is an exciting day for us. We are now able to start the third phase of a building program that was part of the original plan for the church when it initially started in 1981."

Niva was the minister for the church when the original building was built, largely by the members of the congregation with the oversight of Steve Leifer, a general contractor and member of the church.

The combined congregation is now about 140 members strong. The larger facility will enable the congregation to be involved in more community outreach.
