As summer approaches, plunge into the season with Y-Splash Week, a family pool event at the Marysville Family YMCA that kicks off a week-long celebration of swimming designed to help kids stay safe and healthy at the beach, pool, or water park this summer. This year's event, which includes five lessons for $10, is planned for June 22-26.
Swimming is the second most popular form of exercise in the United States, with nearly 370 million annual visits to swimming pools. YMCAs have traditionally been the places where young people learned not only swimming skills, but also the importance of playing safely in the water to prevent injury. Y-Splash teaches kids basic swimming skills and safety practices so they can have fun in the water.
For registration information, contact the Marysville/North County Family YMCA, located at 6420-60th Dr. NE in Marysville, at (360) 653-9622.
