Each year United Way recognizes those companies, organizations and individuals that are helping to create opportunities for a better life for all with the Spirit of Snohomish County Awards. This year's award breakfast will be held September 10 at the Tulalip Resort Casino.

The prestigious Spirit Award will be presented to those who advance the common good, demonstrating a broad and deep commitment to the community.

United Way is seeking nominations in the adult, youth and company categories. Nominees should be active volunteers, creating a culture of community involvement and inspiring others to serve.

The agency is also accepting applications for the Reeves/Sievers' Founders Award for a lifetime of service.

Nomination forms are available at www.uwsc.org and are due for submission by Friday, June 26. Nomination documents can be submitted online or mailed to Spirit of Snohomish County Awards, United Way of Snohomish County, 3120 McDougall Avenue, Ste. 200, Everett, WA 98201.
