The Snohomish County Housing Authority has money to lend for home repairs. Homeowners who fall within established income levels and who live outside the Everett city limits are encouraged to apply for low-income loans through HASCO for repairs that address health and safety issues, promote energy conservation, or simply make the home more livable for the occupants.

HASCO will help homeowners identify the work needed, complete bid specifications, monitor the construction progress and complete all paperwork.

Homeowners whose annual income is between $43,050 and $61,500 may be eligible for the loans. Interest rates range from zero to 3 percent, and deferred payments are available for elderly and disabled applicants.

In addition to income qualifications, successful applicants must have 20 percent or more equity in the home after rehabilitation work is done, have a reasonable credit history, and use the loan primarily to correct health and safety concerns.

Work allowed under the program includes roofs, foundations, dry rot repair, electrical, plumbing and heating upgrades, handicap accessibility, septic systems and more.

For more information and to find out if you qualify, contact Jackie at HASCO at (425) 290-8499, ext. 555 or visit www.hasco.org.
