Well-known author, lecturer and gardener Marianne Binetti will speak about Flexible Gardening at Magnolia Hall in downtown Arlington on Saturday, May 9, from 10 to 11 a.m. Following the lecture, Binetti will be available for a book signing from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
Presented by the Arlington Garden Club and the Evergreen District, Washington State Federation of Garden Clubs, Binetti will provide tips about growing and changing with your garden to have less stress, less work and more joy in life.
The Arlington Garden Club is planning a raffle, with prizes that include a wishing well for the garden, an old-fashioned wooden hanger complete with planter, an antique chair with flowers planted in the seat, a container made by a Snohomish County artist donated by Diane Jochimsen and Mike Conner, and a basket that includes the speaker's book and other items. Centerpieces of Gerbera daisies from the lunch tables, which were donated by Arlington Haggen's, will be raffled as well. The Evergreen District will also be raffling garden art displayed in the courtyard at Magnolia Hall.
Magnolia Hall is catering the event with lunch consisting of three salads, bread, beverages and a chocolate mousse. Tickets are still available to the public for $15 per person. Contact Judy Ness at (360) 403-0820 or events@arlingtongardenclub.org to purchase tickets.
