It may not be "Dancing With the Stars," but dog lovers may find it equally entertaining. The fourth annual Northwest Barkin' Boogie freestyle dance competition for dogs and their trainers is set for Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, at Country Classic Kennels in Arlington.
According to the
World Canine Freestyle Organization (WCFO), musical canine freestyle is simply dancing with dogs to music. It's a fun sport for the owners, their dogs and the audience. Based on basic obedience training skills, it adds other dimensions to the dogs' performances such as music, timing, costuming, routine development and showmanship.
Country Classic Kennels is located at 9332-99th Ave. NE in Arlington. Shows start Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. Admission is $3 for adults and children over 12 years old.
