From now through April, every dollar contributed to the Marysville Community Food Bank will go twice as far toward fighting hunger in our community.
The food bank has been selected to participate in the 12th Annual $1 Million Giveaway to Fight Hunger, courtesy of the Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation. Every pound of food or cash donation received, up to $40,000, will be matched by a foundation grant.
"I believe each of us was put here on earth to do what we can to help those in need," Feinstein explained in a written release. "Whatever is donated to this agency, I'll add money to it. The more you give, the more of my $1 million they'll get."
To qualify for the match, donors must specify that their gift is part of the Feinstein Campaign.
Food donations are accepted at the food bank's new location, 4150-88th Street in Marysville, every day except Wednesday and Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m., and Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 6 p.m. Financial contributions can be mailed to P.O. Box 917, Marysville, WA 98270 or dropped by the Food Bank during donation hours.
