Dillon Ahola, an eighth grade student at Cedarcrest Middle School in Marysville, recently served as a page in the House of Representatives. He was sponsored by Rep. Dan Kristiansen, R-Snohomish.

Dillon, 14, is the son of Brian and Regan Ahola of Marysville.

The young man's duties included delivering documents to lawmakers and providing messages to them in committee meetings and on the House floor. He also continued his studies for two hours each day in the legislative page school.

To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor and be between the ages of 14 and 16. Additionally, pages are required to obtain written permission from their parents and school.

Junior high and high school students who are interested in the page program can get more information by visiting: http://www.leg.wa.gov/House/PageInternProgram.
