Arlington credit union raises $5,000 for Children's Museum

MountainCrest Credit Union's annual Holiday Raffle for Kids has raised nearly $5,000 for the Imagine Children's Museum's scholarship fund.
The drawing for prizes was postponed from December 22, 2008 to January 7, 2009 due to the recent unusual snowstorms which hit Snohomish County at the end of December.
According to corporate spokesperson Beth Corsaro-Jarvis, participation by the local credit union's membership, the board, the staff and the business community, as well as partner credit unions, contributed greatly to the success of this year's raffle despite the inclement weather and stormy economic times.
"This contribution is a reflection of the credit union philosophy," said MountainCrest president and CEO Bob Schumacher. "It comes from the cooperative spirit inherent in the credit union movement where individuals pool their resources to benefit the larger group. MountainCrest Credit Union believes in giving back to the community, and support of Imagine Children's Museum's North Pole Parties and scholarship program, earmarked for admissions for those less fortunate, is one way we achieve this goal."
Nancy Johnson, executive director of the Everett museum, added, "I appreciate the wonderful partnership that has developed between Imagine Children's Museum and MountainCrest Credit Union. Their continued contribution to our North Pole Parties and scholarship program exemplifies their commitment to the community."
The Imagine Children's Museum, located at 1502 Wall Street in downtown Everett, served over 187,000 in 2008. The Museum has been honored with many awards including "Best Museum for Kids" by Seattle Magazine and by Nickelodeon's ParentsConnect.com. It was recently named one of the top three "Most Fun Places in Western Washington" by Evening Magazine voters.
