The cities of Arlington and Marysville will both kick off the Christmas holiday with parades and festivities planned for Saturday, December 6.

Arlington's Santa Parade begins at noon December 6, traveling south on Olympic Avenue to Legion Park. Stroll the downtown streets and enjoy pictures with Santa, old-fashioned horse-drawn wagon rides, a tree lighting, music and cookies.

Festive wagon rides will continue the next two Saturdays, December 13 and 20, in downtown Arlington.

Marysville residents can enjoy a winter wonderland of fun, food and music on Saturday, December 6 during the 20th annual Merrysville for the Holidays celebration at Comeford Park.

The historic water tower will be decked out in its traditional holiday lights and visitors can enjoy a free outdoor concert, a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and holiday treats and drinks. At twilight, get set for the Electric Lights Parade as it travels down State Avenue.

Marilyn Boe, manager of the Marysville branch of HomeStreet Bank, is the parade's Grand Marshal this year.

The city is still accepting applications for entries in the Electric Light Parade. Phone (360) 363-8400 for information, or visit ci.marysville.wa.gov to download the parade participant application. Deadline for entries is December 3.
