World hunger activists plan benefit concert at Evergreen UU Coffeehouse
Despite the endless news of economic problems here at home, poverty activists are reminding us not to forget about those around the world whose suffering is constant and sadly entrenched.
Evergreen Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1607 Fourth Street in Marysville, presents a benefit concert for RESULTS, a leading force in ending hunger and poverty in the U.S. and worldwide, on Saturday, October 25 at 7 p.m. Local folk group Real Folk will be joined by several other performers for a night of music centered around the common purpose of ending global poverty.
Mark Brinkmoeller, a leader from the ONE campaign, will also speak at the event, sharing his vision of faith communities working together to end poverty. ONE’s partners include the top secular and faith organizations in the country that advocate to alleviate extreme global poverty and disease around the world.
RESULTS and ONE are non-political, non-denominational organizations whose focus is to educate and lobby on behalf of those in need in our country and around the world.
