Soroptimists plan "bella" dinner and auction

The Marysville chapter of Soroptimist International is planning its annual benefit auction on Friday, October 17, at the Hawthorn Inn at Smokey Point.

“Ciao, Bella!” is the theme of this year’s auction and the local women promise an evening full of fun, entertainment and great deals.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour, complimentary wine tastings, and the opening of the silent auction. The buffet dinner starts at 7:15 p.m.

Hundreds of auction items will be up for bid during the silent and live auctions, and the group will also conduct a raffle to win special prizes. Auction items are donated by local businesses and individuals, and Soroptimists are accepting additional tax-deductible donations for the event until October 10.

Soroptimist International is a nonprofit service organization of professional women who volunteer their time, talent and energy to make a difference in our community. Locally, the Marysville club provides scholarships, supports victims of domestic violence, and contributes to the food bank, the YMCA, school programs and much more.

Admission to the benefit evening is $45 per person. Tickets are available in advance by calling (360) 653-4972.
