Author Robert Fulghum to speak at United Way event

Robert FulghumUnited Way’s annual Spirit of Snohomish County Breakfast, planned for September 10 at the Tulalip Resort Hotel, will feature Robert Fulghum, author of the New York Times bestseller “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”.

The Spirit of Snohomish County Breakfast celebrates the extraordinary spirit of giving back to the community by recognizing five remarkable volunteers and citizens.

This is the twelfth year United Way has recognized extraordinary people for their community involvement and volunteerism. Spirit of Snohomish County winners are nominated by the public in five categories: youth, adult, Labor, Business/Organization and the Reeves-Sievers’ Award for Lifetime Achievement.

“Mr. Fulghum is an exciting speaker whose topic, 'What on Earth Am I Doing?' is beautifully answered by how our honorees are living their lives and contributing to our community,” noted Deborah Squires, spokesperson for United Way of Snohomish County.

The Spirit Breakfast is open to the public, but seating is limited and advance reservations are required. Cost is $25 per person. For information or to make reservations, phone (425) 374-5570 or visit United Way’s web site at www.uwsc.org.
