All Breed Equine Rez-Q, is a 501-(c) 3 non-profit organization that provides a safe haven for neglected and abused equine of all breeds. Volunteers, both adults and students, are needed immediately before the winter rains begin, to provide a hand at stall cleaning, watering, daily chores and light construction work at various locations on the property. All Breed Equine Rez-Q is staffed totally by volunteers and depends upon individual and corporate donations as well as grants. Become a mentor! Mentoring Children of Promise (MCP) is a community based mentoring program for children with a parent involved in the criminal justice system. We serve all of Western Washington, but the need is right here, with 30 boys and girls waiting to be matched in Snohomish County. MCP is looking for adult volunteers, 21 and over, who want to share activities with a youth for 8 hours a month with a minimum 2-year commitment required. Mentors meet regularly with the child and offer friendship, support and guidance. MCP matches mentors to children who live in a close proximity, have similar interests and are a good fit in terms of personality, and the organization offers guidance and support to matches and their families during times of crisis and moments of success. Disaster relief volunteers are needed for daytime service with the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Required training is free. Successful candidates will be assigned to teams that provide disaster relief assistance to Snohomish County residents whenever disaster strikes. The Red Cross responds to a local disaster such as a house or apartment fire an average of once every four days. Team members are on-call at home on a rotating schedule.
