Pilchuck Rentals is a homegrown, family-run rental equipment business that is once again open to the public.
"We started this business in 1979," said owner Lance Brown, "and ran it as a family until we sold it to United Rentals in 2000. Now that United Rentals is gone, we saw a need in the community once again for a rental service that catered to homeowners, small contractor jobs and do-it-yourselfers."
Lance and Becky Brown, along with sons Jason and Jesse Hall and daughter Lynee, staff the friendly store, accompanied by their "shop dog" Duke, a lovable golden retriever.
The newly-reopened Pilchuck Rentals is located at 9114 State Ave. in Marysville. The bright showroom is filled with an extensive line of Stihl and Honda power equipment for all types of jobs. And the best part is, the advice is free.
"We have a combined 50 years of rental experience," said Jason Hall. "We're a family business that people can relate to. And we are dedicated to helping our customers find the right tool for the job. It's about giving the power back to the homeowner and saving people money by helping them get the job done right."
United Rentals focused on commercial contractors, leaving a hole in the local DIY rental market.
Pilchuck Rentals also operates a comprehensive repair shop, fixing most brands of home power equipment.
