Roy Robinson Chevrolet in Marysville is joining General Motors in collecting gently-used cell phones for the Cell Phones for Soldiers charity, which donates prepaid calling cards and cell phones to active duty military personnel.

Cell Phones for Soldiers was founded by teens Robbie and Brittany Berquist for Massachusetts, starting with $21 of their own money. Their goal is to help soldiers overseas call home by providing prepaid phone cards.

Gordon Bjorg, president and owner of Roy Robinson Chevrolet, said, "We are very proud of Chevrolet for supporting Robbie and Brittany in launching this program. Like the Military Family-Friendly Employment Initiative, it is another great way we can all support our military men and women."

Chevy's goal is to raise $1 million to support Cell Phones for Soldiers. Collection boxes are available at Roy Robinson's dealership, located at 6616-35th Ave. NE.
