Adult acting classes are offered year-round by the Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit arts education organization based in Marysville, and this summer the group is presenting a variety of workshops designed to strengthen skills or learn new ones.

Classes will be split between the Historic Everett Theatre in downtown Everett and PacWest Studio in Snohomish.

"Our acting classes are well-established, and we're extending our reach into stage tech areas, dance, and classes for teens," said RCF president Scott Randall. "The workshop approach gives potential students a chance to check us out and learn new skills in a short period of time."

Returning subjects for the summer classes include lighting design, stage makeup, improvisation and audition preparation. Four new classes are on the docket this year too, including stage combat, an introduction to dance, an introduction to stage tech (backstage, props, costumes and more), and theatre for teens. More classes may be added based on the interest of students and instructors.

"We've gotten requests for teen theatre workshops, and we hope this summer's activities will launch into a full-blown youth theatre program," said Randall.
