Not only is the Lights of Christmas the largest holiday light display in the Northwest, it offers five stages for a broad range of ongoing talented performances. From school choirs to Seattle's Flute Society Choir, from bluegrass to jazz groups, dance to drama, entertainment abounds at the Lights of Christmas.
The Warm Beach camp's three music stages include the Joyland Concert Hall, featuring traditional holiday concerts by a variety of choir, band, dance and drama performances; Tinhorn Town with lively bluegrass and country music; and Starry Night Coffeehouse, an intimate setting with acoustic sets and spoken word performances.
If live theatre is your preference, the Lights of Christmas offers two stages of family-oriented theater.
Show and Tell Family Projects presents a ramped-up musical variety show especially for the The Lights of Christmas. "CIRQUE DE NOEL! Christmas Can Be A Circus!" follows the Spinozzi family preparing for their Christmas reunion. Watch them try to juggle their schedule, tame the "wild animals" in the family tree and walk the high wire of tension-filled Christmas shopping. This music-packed theater event is totally family-friendly. The show runs twice on Sunday nights, and is included in general admission.
For a truly special experience, patrons can also enjoy either a Sunday dessert matinee or dinner theatre package. Set in the 1890s, "Winds in the Morning," written by Richard Carter, tells a tale of fathers, sons, and the call of the sea. Tom yearns to follow in the footsteps of his beloved grandfather and late older brother, but between the sea and Tom stand his embittered father, who has turned his back on the sea and his family following a terrible tragedy. The production delivers a compelling family drama interwoven with traditional folk and holiday music.
Dinner theatre is a full evening of entertainment with an elegant six-course dining experience followed by the play, with prices starting at $39 per person and including general admission to the Lights of Christmas. Dessert matinee is priced at $24 and is offered December 4, 11, and 18. Advance reservations are required.
General admission to the Lights of Christmas is $15 for ages 13 to 59, $10 for seniors and military, $9 for ages 4 to 12, and free for kids 3 and under. Group discounts are available.
