Brad Loomis and the Resonance are performing to celebrate their new four song EP, "Under the August Sky," on Dec. 2 at the Q Cafe in Seattle. Joining the band will be Levi Ware, plus Sean McGrath and the Imaginary Friends.

Born and raised in Marysville, Loomis started vocal training at 15 and was active in multiple choirs during his school years. At the age of 20 he picked up the guitar and the combination of self training and professional coaching allows the local man to combine grit and melody into versatile music that spans several genres.

Loomis' eclectic musical influences include The Swell Season, EmmyLou Harris, T-Bone Burnett, and Johnny Cash.

"This album is really about the anticipation and hope that we find coming out of the midst of suffering and loss," explained Loomis.

The Q Café is located at 3223-15th Ave. W. in Seattle. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $8.
