Audiences are invited to enjoy the talents of local musicians as they celebrate "The Best of the Hootenanny," set for Friday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the
Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. in downtown Everett.
As the local country, folk and bluegrass music show begins its third full year of productions, the Hometown Band has faced its share of challenges over the past month. Jeremy Randall, the band's longtime lead singer, has moved out of state, and more tragically, music director and band member
Mark Hibbert passed away suddenly a week after the October show.
"Mark was passionate about the Hometown Hootenanny and the band," said
Red Curtain president Scott B. Randall, "and we were encouraged by his family and close friends to honor his legacy by continuing to present great live music at the Hootenanny."
The Hometown Band will feature vocalists Marcia Kester and Dan Leal, performing favorite songs from the past year including "The Race Is On," "Stand By Your Man" and "Don't Rock the Jukebox." Special guest artists for the show are country sweetheart Rachel Mae, the soulful singer/songwriter Levi Ware and eclectic bluesman and saw player Reggie Miles.
World champion harmonica player Jim McLaughlin will add special musical touches throughout the show, including an opening tribute to Mark Hibbert.
Advance tickets for the Hometown Hootenanny are priced at $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors, students and military personnel, and $5 for kids 12 and under.
