Two mid-July events in Marysville will allow parents and their children to meet local authors and sample their newly-published books.

WarbleVictoria Simcox has written a children's fantasy novel, "The Magic Warble," filled with dwarfs, gnomes, fairies, talking animals and an evil queen. Simcox said the story is an "enchanting tale of adventure and friendship."

The author will make an appearance on Saturday, July 11, from 3 to 5 p.m. at The BookWORKS in downtown Marysville, 1510-3rd Street. All children will receive a bookmark and gel bracelet at the event. To find out more, visit www.themagicwarble.com.

GanlySharon Standish is planning a series of Christian-based children's stories set in Bountiful Blessings Township, and the first of the set is "Ganly Delivers Parcel and Post." Ganly, a hedgehog whose deliveries are "the talk of the town," shares his adventures in the wonderful hedgehog community near Wumbly Woods and McApple Orchards.

Standish will preview her book and sign copies on Sunday, July 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7215-51st Ave. NE in Marysville. Books will be available for purchase at the book-signing, and can also be ordered online at www.tatepublishing.com.
